In the ninth grade Roosevelt High School Ethnic Studies course “Boyle Heights and Me,” students analyze the root causes of oppression while taking a closer look at their own identities and their Boyle Heights community.
Using the themes of resistance, resilience, and reimagination the authors in La Vida es un Regalo Sagrado explore stories of people who have been resilient before them to inspire their own ability to survive and thrive.
